Almost the Coolest Pirate Ever

Yesterday at the highland games I spent way too much money to bring myself one step closer to looking like the coolest pirate ever.  I place an order for a new leather captains coat and picked up a sword and baldric.

SH1049 The sword is an CAS Hanwei replica of the sword belonging to Oliver Cromwell.  Though they mass produce their swords, they are hand forged and not stamped.  So the specs for a piece will be slightly different from one to another.

Here is the info from their site on the sword.

Oliver Cromwell (1599 – 1658) was a powerful figure in English history during and after the English Civil War, when he rose from the rank of Captain of Horse to Lord Protector of England. His sword, said to have been carried at the battle of Drogheda in 1649, has been remarkably well preserved and features in the collection of the Royal Armouries in Leeds, England, where it is displayed in the permanent collection. Our Cromwell Sword is an accurate replica of the original “mortuary” hilt style and features a blackened guard decorated in a gold foliage pattern with a wire-wound sharkskin grip. As the original sword now lacks a scabbard , we have provided a design typical of the period.

The captains coatcaptain2lrg is by Ravenswood Leather and looks like the photo except the primary color is black and the ascent color is grey.  The sleeves open up on the side, but you can also unlace the sleeves and remove then.  It is so cool.

The one thing I want to pick up one day is cutlass by Michael “Tinker” Pearce, that is is he will make one.  I am excepting it to be close to two grand, but is an awesome sword smith and it is a hand forge sword.
